Having a holiday break and how it can help your business

Thinking of taking a break these holidays! Don’t be worried about your stats. This is why I will take a break and you should too!

A break might be what your business needs. Even more so if you are feeling a little overwhelmed or not in love anymore at the moment with you blog or business.

Taking a little distance can be the thing that makes you love your business and blog all over again and you can go back totally recharged.

The main three reason why I think you should take a break these holidays of your blogging or business are the following

  • motivation

  • inspiration

  • rest

These are one of the main elements that any creative entrepreneur needs!

Simply taking a little bit of distance often gives me more motivation to start again after my break. Even if it is just a day or a few hours. I can only imagine what two weeks might do. When I take a break I only keep a notepad for ideas and I’m only allowed to write them down.

After that little break, I have a notepad full of ideas and a whole new amount of motivation to go on again.

Motivation is one of the most powerful tools for your business so loading up on it never hurts.

Need more? I share my 10 favourite motivation quotes here.

The things that get me inspired Β are mostly family friends and good times. I want to help people through my blog, but I also want to spread good vibes.

What has more positive vibes than the holidays?

I’m going to draw and watch movies and get all my ideas in order.Β (I love having brainstorming opportunities and two weeks will be great.)

Also, I’m very looking forward to just drawing for fun. Playing around and doing experiments is great to come up with all kind of ideas for after the holidays.

Doing what you love for business can be draining so make sure that you do it for fun sometimes as well.

It is also a great opportunity for me to learn because without the pressure of it needing to be perfect for business I feel a lot more comfortable to try new things!

But most importantly rest. Nobody can go on without a break and risking health or mental issues over some work will not be worth it.

Even more, when you consider that the fewer breaks you take the less productive you get and the less you will get done.

It really won’t help you so take the holidays as a wonderful opportunity and take that break you deserve.

Especially if you work at your computer a lot or get stressed out about you business taking a break can be crucial. I can be very bad at this since I always feel the need to push on.

But from 19 December till the second of January I’m going to do my best to really take a break.

I hope you will to and I hope that the above are reason enough for you to at least consider it. Taking care of yourself in a way is the same as taking care of your business if you are an entrepreneur.

We as humans need breaks and what is a better time than the holidays!

Important note;

The 19th of December this blog will move to self-hosted (yay)

You don’t have to do anything but if you still want to know when I post you can turn on email notifications!

Also a soon as I have moved I will send up an email newsletter so if you are more interested in that one you can sign up probably on Monday the 12th of December!

Hope to see you there!

Let me know if you are planning to take a break these holidays and what you are going to do if you do! Are you going to visit family?
